I came to this place twice, both time have been super pleasant! The first time I came was for Mother's Day, their special brunch menu was amazing I love their French onion soup it's very flavorful and thick which I like! The service is always amazing, staffs are super friendly and they come and check with us every couple minutes to make sure we are being taken care of! Overall I love this place, the location is very nice I would love to try their outside dining area next time! Definitely recommend
As always, let's start with a good news. My wife had a wonderful fillet and our son enjoyed a delicious prime rib. I had the swordfish which was off the menu and it was delightful. I brought my own bottle of wine because I wanted the 2012 Camus anniversary and while 801 has a nice wine selection, it was special occasion and we wanted to celebrate with something top-notch. Secondly, the service was wonderful. I told our server we wanted a nice casual pace for dinner and she allowed us to take our time and enjoy our conversation without feeling rushed. When she was with us, she was completely attentive without being pushy or overbearing. The price point for the meal was what I expected, and it was reasonable. The only downside was the noise. If you're not sitting out on the patio, you're going to feel like you're shouting the entire meal if you're there on a busy night, which we were. Would love to see them try and address their terrible acoustics with the sound company. It might cost them a few bucks, but I think in the long run, it would pay off if they could bring the decibels down a bit.
This is a great hangout! All of the staff are very attentive and kind. The food is incredible. I loved the tuna. Multiple apps were delicious. It sounds silly but the bread was actually amazing!
801 is a true gem for an upscale yet unpretentious dining experience. The vibe is warm and welcoming, perfect for a nice night out. The meal started wonderfully with delicious rolls served with heavenly honey butter. The duck potstickers were another tasty appetizer - delicate wrappers filled with flavorful duck. For my entree, I had the filet mignon & shrimp both were cooked to perfection. The steak - tender, juicy, and melted in my mouth. Such high-quality meat prepared flawlessly. Also got to try the prime rib which is also amazing. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The bartenders make great craft cocktails too. Overall, 801 delivers on upscale eats and drinks in a friendly, local atmosphere. A definite repeat for a special night out.
My husband and I went out for a little Sunday drive. The place we gravitated towards was super busy and had a 45+ minute wait. So I hopped on Yelp to find a new location. The reviews looked good for 801 Local, so we decided to try it. I'm really sad it was chilly and windy, because they have a cute little patio area with a Greece terrace vibes. As soon as you walked in you could smell the buttery warmth of fresh seafood. We sat at the bar. Nice clean restaurant. We ordered two very nicely made drinks. We had a St. Germain spritzer & a glass of wine. And boy did she keep that thing full! We ordered the French Dip with homemade chips and the Cesar. Be aware, the Cesar will come with anchovies on top if you don't request otherwise. The Cesar was light and crisp. The baked cheese crouton was really tasty. French dip was juicy, not dry at all. I do like my au just salty, this wasn't quite where I like it. The horseradish dipping sauce was nice too, so would've liked a little more flavor and spice. This is a nice quiet lunch spot; but I'd definitely like to go back and try their seafood dishes. Whatever they were whipping up for the dinner hour smells amazing!
My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new restaurant for Valentine's Day and this was the only one that had decent times left. It was definitely busy and took a bit to seat us even with a reservation. Our waitress was really nice. The restaurant has very similar vibes to its sister restaurants - 801 Fish and 801 Chophouse. We ordered a couple apps and entrees to share: Duck dumplings - good flavor but was not warm or hot. Braised short ribs - tender and fell off the bone. Crab dip - ok but the toast was a little burnt. Seared scallops - risotto was ok but the scallops were perfect. Wine selection was great and I would come back to try their other entrees. The prices are slightly lower than their other restaurants.
This is such a great experience! I knew it would be great with 801 in the name :) I came here for a NYE dinner (it's a tradition for my friend and me) and made a reservation online. We were seated promptly by the hostess that greeted us with a smile. The restaurant itself is really nice! It had an east coast elevated but relaxed vibe. I really liked it. We were then greeted by our server who was wonderful. Wildly attentive and pleasant, and was wonderful to converse with. Thank you for making our experience so lovely! To started we ordered the rolls. Whatever you do, order the rolls. These literally melted in your mouth- it's probably some of the best bread I've ever had. It usually comes with a truffle butter, but we got regular since we both don't super love truffles. For food I ordered the Caesar salad and it was a huge order! You definitely get your bang for your buck. Ingredients were fresh, and I loved the cheese crouton on top. For food I ordered the steak frites which was sliced Denver cut steak, arugula, and chimichurri. This was a lovely presentation and I loved the flavors! Some of my steak was majority fat, so I cut it off and enjoyed what I could. The frites were good! They accompanied the meal very well. My friend ordered the pistachio crème brûlée for dessert and I had a bite- it was great! Love the fresh fruit on top. It was a nice way to circle out the meal. Looking forward to trying their cocktails next time I go :)
Went for our company Christmas party last night, and got to enjoy the private room. Restaurant was full and noisy, but the room we were in was nice and quiet. Decor is nice, but parking is crazy! Packed lot, but a side lot that's caution taped off and not in use for some reason? The service was wonderful and folks that served us were all knowledge and very friendly. We tried several drinks, and all were tasty! The rolls, crab dip and duck appetizers were all great as well. The butter that comes with the rolls is wonderful! Most of the folks at the table got the filet and enjoyed it. I had the shrimp and linguine. Very tasty, but I would suggest asking for a small plate to put your shrimp tails and lemon, otherwise you just have to put them on the table, or keep moving them out of your way as you eat. A warning though. The broccolini side dish is very spicy! We got an order from the table and most people tried it and didn't like the spicy level and counted eat it. I enjoyed it, but ended up with some nasty heartburn later that night. Proceed with caution on that or ask for the sauce on the side! We got a variety of desserts and they were all tasty as well. Fun place for date night or a business dinner.
